Why your hairdresser is running late. It’s ALL your fault.

By Christopher Box

Alright, maybe it’s not ALL your fault. The blame can definitely be spread around a bit. Let’s take a look at what it’s like for a salon during this crazy time of year.

I am writing this at the kickoff of holiday season. November and December are a salons busiest time of year. The majority of my clients need to get in during this time so they can look their best at parties and of course Aunt Susie’s holiday feast.

What you may not know if you are booking last minute is that a lot of people pre-book prime holiday hours 6 weeks in advance. Evenings and weekends go quickly. Do keep in mind that things shift and people reschedule. This is good news for you because you just may luck out and get that time you really want. No matter what, you are probably gonna have to be flexible.

Trust me, we really do want to get you in. Outside of canceling someone else’s appointment we will pull late hours and even come in on off days to squeeze in as much beauty as possible!

5 Hot Hair Tips on How To Beat The Winter Weather!

Article by: Sonia Isaguirre

The weather in Dallas has been just gorgeous lately--crisp fall climes, with lovely blue skies and very little humidity. But I know what's around the corner: cold winter nights, crazy hair-snapping cold, and dare I say it--messy hat hair. Eek! This year, I plan to head off bad winter hair by being, as the Girl Scouts would say, prepared! Here are some top tips on how to best winterproof your locks from me.

1. Stock up on leave-in conditioners and protective oils: These act as a cozy coat between your hair and the heat. During the cold dryness of the winter months, damage from a curling or straightening iron can be worse than usual. If you're straightening out or curling up, coat your hair with a leave-in oil such as Moroccan oil. This product contains Argan oil, so it really works to protect your locks. It also has Vitimain A to improve elasticity, Vitamin E to protect against free-radicals, and Phenols to shield against environmental stressors . . so it means business!

Cops claim wigout over bad hair day

A Lynn couple got tangled in a hairy situation when the cops showed up at their basement apartment after the woman went after her husband with a 15-inch knife when he wouldn’t help her tame her tresses, according to the police version of events.

The couple has kissed and made up. But while Kaukauna Y. Gethers Rudolph, 51, admits she had a bad hair day, she insisted yesterday she’d never ask her husband to do her hair, no matter what police say.

“Men do not know how to do a woman’s hair,” she said. “Would you trust your husband to do your hair?”

Kaukauna admits the big to-do started early Saturday as she sat on her bed, taking out her old hair weave.

Her plan, she said, was to color her short, graying locks with Revlon jet black hair dye and put in her new hair weaves, which she had recently picked up on sale for $3 a piece at a nearby beauty supply store.

As she removed the old weaves, she asked her hubby, Kenneth “Kenny” Rudolph, 48, to fix her some food so she could finish the tedious task. “I was getting sort of hungry,” she said.

He had other plans. Kenny said he didn’t feel like cooking and wanted to go out. Kaukauna said he was “tipsy” and she didn’t want him to leave. A bitter argument erupted. Kenny, apparently alarmed, dialed 911. Meanwhile, Kaukauna claims she went into the kitchen to start cooking. Hence the big knife that was in her hands when the cops showed up.

Police say they heard yelling inside. Kenny answered the door and said his wife “came at me with a knife” and it’s “all about her asking me to help do her hair and I don’t do hair,” according to a police report.

Kaukauna, police said, had her knife behind her back. When a cop reached for it, she tried to shove it down her shorts. She pleaded not guilty to assault with a dangerous weapon and resisting arrest.

Last night, Kaukauna wore a wig over her undone mane. Her new “Sassy Collection” hair pieces — black with red highlights — remained in their packages.

Now that is one bad hair day!
